Mossberries cover the soil of moors with a delicate trellis of thin runners. In summer and autumn they bear quite eye-catching red berries. They are ediable, but raw they are not very tasty. However they become very tasty when cooked and used for marmelade or compote. It is said that in Finland they are even used to prepare a sort of wine.
