The leaves of the Frog`s Bit look like those of tiny waterlilies. Unlike them they are not rooted in the soil but float free on the surface of the water. From midsummer on white triparted flowers do appear. The Frog`s Bit grows best in shallow water but needs also some deeper spots where its hibernacles are protected from frost in winter.
