Finaly a bulrush that is on it`s best behaviour! It doesn`t wander through the pond to produce offsets everywhere possible, it remains on its spot and its tussock just grows bigger and wider. Seen from above its stalks are triangular and even the flower is attractive, at least for a bulrush. Each flower sits in the axil of a leaf that is positioned rectancular to the stalk. Despite all those virtues it is very rare in cultivation. It is also rare in the wild, in Germany it just a few populations in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.
