If you want to see `clover`-leafs the size of a human palm, you got to grow Bog Bean in your pond. It is no clover but belongs to family of its own. With its rhizome it wanders through shallow water and sprouts everywhere its large cloverlike leaves. In late spring it forms panicles of white fringed flowers. It is worth the trouble to kneel down and examine those flowers as closely as possible, they are pieces of art! Formerly used as a medical plant and today strictly protected by law.
