This horsetail has a tendency to become invasive, so you might want to lock it safely in pot else it might conquer your pond. It sometimes branched a somewhat poisonous (but nobody will try to eat something like a horsetail). In summer it bears brownish spore containers on top of its stalks. In former times the plant was called `tin herb` and used to polish tin plates and cups. The plant is also used in bio-plantcare. In both case the active substance is silica.
