This Iris originates from Northern America where it grows in wide areas and several climatic zones. Our plants come from the north, they proved relyable hardy here. Iris fulva is the most important parent of the modern Iris-Louisiana-Hybrids, for it adds a colour that is unique in Irises: reddish-brown to terracotta. Best plant it in spring, for a late planting followed by a cold winter can kill the plant.
