A native plant from wet and moist meadows (but got no problems with ordinary soils as well). Very attractive during blooming season, and an impressive plant during the rest of the time. It can form huge tussocks (up to two meters diameter). The leafs are grey-green and in late summer ad autumn the plant blooms with long dense spikes of dark bluish flowers.
