Many perennials that are used as ground covers do have the disadvantage to dye back in winter completely and leave a naked spot on the ground. That`s a pity for it is winter when we need as much green in the garden as possible. Luckly Bishop`s Head is an exception, for it keeps its foliage during winter and drops it after the new foliage has emerged. If you want to be really ungratefull to this service of the plant, you just need to remove the foliage right before the new leaves appear. The plant will then develope first flowers and afterwards new leaves. It means more labour for the plant but we can see its flowers that otherwise are often hidden under the old leaves.
