Delosperma spec #2 , Sani Pass/RSA -Ice Plant

All Ice Plants (there are about 100 species) come from Southafrica. Most are not hardy here. This one we received via the USA and it stood several severe winters here without damage. It is not the frost that endangers the plant, it is winter wetness it can`t stand. We keep it in large pots with perfect drainage and during winter the pots are protected from rain by keeping them under the porch roof. The plant shows its thankfullness every summer with an overwhelming bloom. Unfortunatelly we do not know which variety we keep. All we learned is that the seed was collected at the Sani Pass in Southafrica.
