Nymphaea `Leopardess` - Tropical Waterlily

`Leopardess` is among the older varieties that is still propagated by nurseries. It was created in 1931 by Randig and in its class it is still unchallenged. Its flowers show a clear blue and make a very nice contrast to the purplish brown spotted foliage (that is the `leopard pattern the name refers to). It is highly adabtable to limited space. Even plants that are kept small will produce at least a few flowers. If ample fertilizer and space is provided, it will grow to a giant that is constantly covered in flowers.
