The distribution of this cinquefoil reaches Germany only in its extrem southwest, and even there it is extremly rare. It grows in semi-xeric meadows and on rocky places. If you see it for the first time, you might mistake its flowers for strawberry flowers. Quite explainable, for both plants are members of the rose family. In the garden it can be grown on walls, in the rockery or in a bed for plants that love dry soil.
