The Curry Plant can be found everywhere in the Mediterranean region. It loves sunny and rocky places and hates wetness. The hotter the weather, the more its foliage smell of curry. Since it readily re-grows after shart cutting, it is often used as a small hedge in its home. Just the way we use box for formal hedges. Unfortunately we can`t use it this way, for it got trouble with our winters. Its not frost that kills the plant, but winter wetness. Our stock plants spent every winter in our unheated greenhouse. They do not mind the low temperatures there (down to -15 ° C), as long as we keep them dry. If you can offer a similar protection in your garden, you can keep them out of doors year-round. In most cases however you may prefer to winterize it indoors - as cold and with as much light as possible - or treat it as an annual. If you want to use it in cooking, please keep in mind that its aroma can`t stand heat. It is always the last ingredient to add to a dish.
