With Aster dumosus you can reach another peak of bloom in autumn. The variety `Mittelmeer` bears clear blue flowers. Like all Aster dumosus it needs regular division to remain its vitality. The genus Aster was recently splitted into several new genera. As a result the official name of Aster dumosus is now Symphyotrichum dumosum - but the name is not yet used among horticulturists.
