(William Tricker 1914) An already older variety, but due to its good characteristis it is still in demand. Its flowers are deep purple with an orange-yellow centre. They are first cup-shaped, later star-shaped and they have a sweet fragrance. It is a viviparous variety, but this characteristic is not very destinct. It is able to adapt to crowded conditions and can be kept in limited space. It is very free flowering and one of the most robust tropicals. At the moment there are very cheap `Panama Pacifics` available on the internet. They are usualy imports from southeast Asia and are not true to name. None of them can hold a candle to the original variety, most bloom in lavenderblue, some don`t bloom at all (since they were hybridized as aquarium plants). We sell true to name and therefore more expensive `Panama Pacific`.
